Shelby County announced on May 8 that it is accepting sealed bids for the delivery of concrete pipe. Bids will be received at the office of the Chief Financial Officer in the Shelby County Administration Building, located at 200 West College Street-Room 125, Columbiana, Alabama, until 2:15 p.m. on May 21. At that time, all submitted bids will be opened publicly and read.

This invitation to bid is a re-bid for concrete pipe to be delivered. The county has outlined specific procedures for communication during this process. According to the announcement, once this invitation is issued, all informal communications regarding the solicitation must cease.

Any questions about bid specifications should be directed to Mary Horton by email at mhorton@shelbyal.com no later than noon on May 13. Written responses to these questions will be posted on the eBid Portal by close of business on May 15. The county stated that bidders may only rely upon written guidance or responses provided through this process.

The announcement also warns that failure to comply with these communication guidelines will result in disqualification from consideration due to improper communication.

The request highlights Shelby County’s efforts to ensure a transparent and orderly bidding process for its infrastructure needs.
