Next Tuesday, Oct. 25, ALDOT will begin a project to repave and modify U.S. 31 between Interstate 65 and the Pelham city limit. The project will include resurfacing the road, reworking some of the medians and extending turn lanes at high-traffic intersections such as Highway 119 and Industrial Road. The end product will allow traffic to flow more efficiently along U.S. 31.
Work will begin at I-65 and will progress north to the Pelham city limit over the next several weeks. Lane closures will only be permitted from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. each day.
If you have any concerns once the project is under way, please report them at https://www.dot.state.al.us/reportaconcern.html.
