The Alabama Policy Institute (API) is set to unveil its 2025 BluePrint for Alabama, a comprehensive 30-point conservative policy plan. This initiative, categorized under API’s core pillars of free markets, limited government, and strong families, aims to shape the legislative agenda in the upcoming session.

Reflecting on the previous year's success, the 2024 BluePrint saw significant traction with Alabama's conservative legislators. Of the 30 proposals introduced last year, 25 were deliberated by at least one chamber. Seventeen priorities achieved success, notably halting gambling expansion and implementing universal school choice.

For 2025, API has identified 15 carry-over proposals from the previous year that it plans to push forward. These include reforms in areas such as Certificate of Need, tax and budget adjustments, expanding health freedom initiatives, and safeguarding minors from inappropriate content both online and offline.

Additionally, new proposals are being introduced. These focus on strengthening state unemployment requirements, enhancing scrutiny and transparency in regulatory and budgeting processes, ensuring protections in public spaces, enacting criminal justice reforms, and permitting medical patients with limited healthcare options to access innovative treatments.

API remains committed to its mission of improving lives in Alabama through effective public policy and anticipates having a considerable influence on the legislative process in 2025.
