On Tuesday, March 11, former Oak Mountain High School standout Davis Gillespie’s current college team, the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, won 3-1 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the UTRGV Vaqueros.

The game took place at Pete Taylor Park. This was their first matchup against the Vaqueros this season.

The Golden Eagles’ next game is scheduled for Friday, March 14 at 6 p.m. at Pete Taylor Park against Old Dominion Monarchs.
